Neuroleptiká patria k často používaným liekom v psychiatrii. Ich indikačnou skupinou sú predovšetkým psychotické poruchy, ale často sú používané aj pri liečbe depresií, úzkostných stavov a porúch osobnosti. Vzhľadom na ich široké použitie je nutné mať na zreteli aj ich nežiaduce účinky a liekové interakcie. Práca je venovaná predovšetkým jednému z nežiaducich účinkov pri liečbe neuroleptikami, a tou je hyperprolaktinémia. Autori sledovali vzostup hladín prolaktínu pri užívaní rôznych neuroleptík.
