Vztahová OCD je málo rozpoznávanou formou OCD, která významně ovlivňuje vztahy pacienta i jeho blízkých a která zasluhuje systematickou psychoterapii. Je potřeba provést více rigorózních a systematických výzkumů, které by mohly přispět k lepšímu pochopení vzniku, průběhu a léčby R-OCD.
