Již několik desetiletí jsou studovány psychosociální události v životě člověka z hlediska jejich dopadu na zdraví. K nim patří i ztráta práce. Na ztrátu práce reaguje postižený především emocemi. Jde o psychologické a psychiatrické důsledky, jednak krátkodobé, jednak dlouhodobé. Dochází i ke zhoršení poměrů sociálních. To vše pak vede mimo zvýšenou konzumaci alkoholu, drog, zvýšenou sebevražednost, zvýšení úmrtnosti i k ovlivnění somatických onemocnění. V této souvislosti jsou z vnitřního lékařství častěji zmiňována kardiovaskulární onemocnění, gastrointestinální onemocnění, diabetes a astma. Také jsou zmínky z oblasti dermatologie. Článek si všímá prací z poslední doby zachycených pomocí přístupných elektronických zdrojů.

In this connection, cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, diabetes and asthma are most commonly mentioned. Others include dermatological disorders.
