Autor uvádí přehled prevalence úzkostných poruch a deprese, věnuje se jejich vzájemné komorbiditě. Ukazuje, že nejen samostatná prevalence, ale i jejich vzájemná komorbidita je vysoká a představuje tudíž závažnou terapeutickou výzvu. Následně podává přehled indikací a dávkování jednotlivých inhibitorů zpětného vychytávání serotoninu (SSRI) v léčbě úzkostných poruch. Upozorňuje na to, že zatím nejsou lékaři v ČR vázáni rigorózně schválenými indikacemi či doporučeným dávkováním, nicméně s touto praxí je třeba v budoucnu počítat.

SSRI IN THE SPECTRUM OF ANXIETY DISORDERS

The author gives a survey of prevalence of generalized anxiety disorders and depression, concentrating on their mutual co-morbidity. He shows, that not only independent prevalence, but their mutual co-morbidity is high and thus represents a big therapeutic challenge. The spectrum of indications and dosage of a particular SSRI in the treatment of anxiety disorders is consequently given. The author emphasizes, that physicians in Czech republic are not so far rigorously limited by the approved indications and recommended dosage, but this practice might not last forever.
