Závislost na alkoholu (alkoholizmus) je chronické, recidivující, často progredující onemocnění. Jednou z hlavních příčin častého výskytu tohoto onemocnění v České republice je vysoká spotřeba alkoholu a časný začátek konzumace u dětí a adolescentů. Následkem nadměrného užívání (abúzu) alkoholu je řada psychických i somatických poruch. Vedle vlastní závislosti na alkoholu a specifických alkoholických psychóz je významná též problematika tzv. duálních diagnóz - kombinace závislosti a další duševní poruchy nebo poruchy chování. Sdělení podává stručný přehled duševních poruch a poruch chování vyvolaných abúzem alkoholu a souhrn terapeutických postupů.

ALCOHOL DEPENDENCE

Alcohol dependence, or alcoholism, is often a progresive chronic disease. One from the main reasons of frequent prevalence of this disorder in the Czech Republic is high alcohol consumption and early onset of alcohol intake in childrens and teenagers population. The results of alcohol abuse are several psychic and somatic disorders. Bysides the own alcohol dependency and specific alcohol psychosis are important the problems of dual diagnosis - combination of alcohol dependence with another mental disorders or behaviour disorders. The article gives brief overview about disorders caused by alcohol abuse and the summary of therapeutical methods.
