In this article there are shown possible connections between exposure of children and adolescents to sexual contents in the mass media and psychopathological symptomatology. Exposure of children and adolescents to pornographic content can have negative effect on their psychosexual and personality development, too. The mass media may be especially important for young people as they are developing their own sexual attitudes and patterns of behavior, and as parents and schools remain reluctant to discuss sexual topics.

Keywords: Key words: mass media, sex, psychopatology, childhood, adolescence.
