PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN THE TREATMENT OF DEPRESSIVE AND ANXIOUS DISORDERS

MUDr. Mgr. Petr Pastucha
Psychiatrická klinika FN a LF UP, Olomouc

Regular physical exercise may improve the health in patients with somatic disorders and with mental symptoms as well. The exact mechanism of its efficacy on the psychic state remains still unclear. Its advantage is relatively easy applicability in ordinary clinical practice especially for certain patient types. The use of physical exercise as a therapeutic method, being a part of the complex therapeutic approach, should be applied according to its specific parameters and indication criteria should be fullfiled.
