Kdy volit Stratteru pro léčbu hyperkinetické poruchy/ADHD

Strattera je nový preparát schválený od dubna 2007 pro léčbu dětí s ADHD v České republice. Dosavadní výsledky studií potvrzují, že atomoxetin (Strattera) je srovnatelně účinný s metylfenidátem (Ritalinem) v redukci symptomů u dětí s ADHD. Je známo, že ne všechny děti reagují příznivě na stimulancia a výskyt některých nežádoucích účinků nebo komorbidních poruch omezuje jejich užití. Atomoxetin byl účinný v redukci symptomů ADHD u pacientů s některými komorbidními diagnózami, jako jsou tikové poruchy, úzkostné poruchy, deprese, porucha opozičního vzdoru nebo enuréza. Strattera v dávce jednou nebo dvakrát denně umožňuje dětem vyhnout se stigmatizaci spojené s opakovaným užíváním Ritalinu ve škole. Protože není stimulans, není spojena s rizikem abúzu a drogové závislosti.
