Telemedicine in psychiatry

There is increased interest in telemedicine. Telepsychiatry is not the first specialty. The use of telecommunications technologies to provide medical services, could be used because of various reasons. The use of telemedicine is based on the aim to improve acces to psychiatric care, cost effectivity and decrease stigma of psychiatry for public people. Cons an pros are discussed in the article. There is need for further studies in different contries to estabilish regulations and standards for the use. Subjective acceptation is mainly based on the cooperation between health specialists, clients and regulative authorities. Improving health care as the main reason for telemedicine.
