Anankastic or obsessive-compulsive personality disorder is strongly reflected in personality and behavioral patterns of an individual. It is manifestedby excessive perfectionism, conscientiousness and rigidity. This disorder can be comorbid with major depressive disorder. The presenceof comorbid disorder may have a negative effect on the treatment of second psychiatric diagnosis. In therapy, we primarily focus on thereduction of current depressive symptoms. After the reduction of symptoms of depression, it is possible to work on changes of maladaptivepatterns of experience and behavior associated with anankastic personality traits.
