Dependent personality disorder and depression

Individuals with dependent personality disorder are indecisive, transfer responsibility to others, feel incapable and are afraid of abandonment.Comorbid psychiatric diagnosis are often in these individuals (anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disordersetc.). Depression is one of the possible comorbidities. In therapy we initially focus on stabilization of the current psychological state of theindividual, i. e. we reduce depressive symptoms. In the long-term perspective, we focus on the change of the maladaptive schemas andpatterns of behavior.
