Psychosocial risk factors in schizophrenia

Psychosocial risk factors are together with environmental and genetic factors engaged in etiopathogenesis of schizophrenia. In this paper, the resultsof the project Epidemiology and Genetics of Schizophrenia are presented. Factors like a lower education, unemployment, family status, number ofchildren, problems with close persons, death of the closest person, home violence, physical or emotional deprivation, bullying and complication inthe mother´s pregnancy have been statistically more pronounced in the patients with schizophrenia in comparison with control subjects.
