Patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia or binge eating represent a very large and intrinsically differentiated group with distinct comorbidityas well as dynamics of developing the problem. In this context, a certain conclusion with limited validity can be easily made and generalized.Dealing with eating disorders thus requires respect to both the nature of the problem that involves the impairment of a basic human need,and the individual, age, and social characteristics of the patient. The article aims at presenting eating disorders as a comprehensible problem,highlighting the important implications in developing it, and outlining the treatment options.

Practical risk management in psychiatric care: benefits of root cause analysis and failure modes and effects analysis and their practical use

We cannot avoid risks in healthcare, so that risk management becomes very important. Psychiatric care is an area with specific risks thatinclude inpatient suicide. On this event benefits of tools of risk analysis will be presented.The article focuses on root cause analysis and failure modes and effects analysis and their practical use.

The effect of work-based therapy on patient with chronic course of schizophrenia

This case report presents a female patient with chronic schizophrenia who was on disability, living completely isolated from society. Thispatient participated in a paid program of work – based therapy which resulted in such an improvement of her work habits that she wasable to obtain a regular part – time employment. Psychopathological symptoms of this disorder were monitored at the beginning and atthe end of the program. The quality of life was evaluated as well.
