Jde spíše o syndromologickou jednotku, která má své tvrdošíjné zastánce ale i urputné a odmítající protivníky. Ti druzí se snaží přesunout odpovědnost lékaře na nemocného, což je pro ně snazší než bojovat o naději a soucítit s nemocným. Přesune-li lékař potíže nemocného do jeho hlavy, jak uvádí zvolené motto, udělá z něho neurotika, hypochondra, hysterika. Má tak stanovenou diagnózu a cítí se uklidněn.
