Kazuistika pacienta s bipolární afektivní poruchou

Tato kazuistika pojednává o padesátiletém vysokoškolsky vzdělaném muži, který se léčí několik let pro bipolární afektivní poruchu. Během této doby prodělal již celkem pět epizod onemocnění, z toho dvě manické a tři depresivní. Během tří epizod se léčil ambulantně, pouze během druhé manické a třetí depresivní epizody byl hospitalizován. Postupně byl léčen různými psychofarmaky, ne vždy zcela správně vybranými. Vzhledem k tomu, že jeho onemocnění je hodnoceno jako bipolární afektivní porucha I. typu bez atypických či psychotických příznaků a s vysokým rizikem suicidality, je pro něj dle současných doporučení optimální dlouhodobá léčba lithiem, na které se jej nakonec i podařilo stabilizovat.
