Depressive disorders occur in about 40% of patients with dementia. They worsen cognitive dysfunction and the level of functioning, leading
to behavioral disorders. They reduce the quality of life of patients and their carers and increase the risk of institutionalization. They often
remain undiagnosed or are treated wrongly. Thus, targeted screening and timely and correct treatment of these diseases are necessary.
