Measuring the quality of mental health care is not a widespread discipline in the Czech Republic. The balanced scorecard is considered to bea potent tool for the evaluation of implementing strategies in institutions, while adapting to mental health care has been succesful in abroadand it allows to monitor a few indicators, which is beneficial both for clinical practice and health care management.

Antidepressant therapy during pregnancy which is sometimes necessary in clinical practice poses certain risks. Although these risks are relativelysmall, according to results of studies so far, it is still necessary to consider them in the treatment. The choice of antidepressant shouldbe individually considered for each patient.

Environmental factors and lifestyle can change human epigenetic status with methylation, acetylation DNA, histon methylation, miRNA expresionetc. Different epigenetic regulations can be associated with various diseases, such as tumors, cardiovascular, mental and neurodegenerative diseases. The aim of this contribution is to summarize the impal of lifestyle on epigenetic mechanisms that consequently can affect the pathogenesis ofmental disorders.A part of this publication includes an analysis of lifestyle risk factors, whitch can be related with Schizophrenia and Alzheimer´s disease from author ´s case control studies.
