The article highlights some new legal provisions in the Health Services Act, relevant to forensic psychiatric practice, such as viewing of
medical records by private experts, the problematic consent of a minor and legally incompetent person to hospitalization and other
procedures (medication), new notification obligations, or a new definition of containment methods; by contrast, the regulation concerning
duty of confidentiality remains unchanged. The possibility of performing sterilization, therapeutic castration, and others is
newly regulated in the Act on Specific Health Services. In accordance with the amendment to the Criminal Code, it is possible to change
institutional protective treatment to security detention.
