The process of psychosocial rehabilitation helps people with mental health problems increase their quality of life and may have

important role in the personal recovery process. It stands on supporting of strengths and sources of support, there is a major work

with the environment with the goal to maximise possibilities of inclusion to the community. Tenets are the principles of recovery

and empowerment, help in rebuilding personal identity and finding new meaning of life. It is important to step from wishes and

needs perceived by the person him/herself. The person systematically works towards fulfilling his/her needs in major areas of

life, setting individual targeted goals and progress towards their achievement. Psychosocial rehabilitation can/should be used

in inpatient care by application of greater involvement of people with mental health problems and their families in treatment

decision-making. Restrictivity of the therapeutic regime can be reduced and treatment can/should be individualised. Teams can

be managed in a horizontal manner, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration. It is also important to ensure the teams

are supervised, educated in rehabilitation theory and practice and create supportive recovery oriented environment promoting

individualised care.
